Praia do Farol e Praia dos Hangares

Located on the Island of Culatra, the beach is named after the lighthouse that is located in its extreme west, in Barra Nova next to the Cape of St. Maria.

the Praia dos Hangares is situated about 1.5 km to the east. It is accessible by boat or walking from the Lighthouse. There is still an old bunker and barbed wire, legacies from the time when Navy seaplanes anchored on the island.

Access and facilities: boat rides from Faro (summer) and Olhão (all year round), ample and neat parking lots close to the embarkation docks. Various support equipment (restaurants, toilets and bathing facilities) and surveillance during the bathing season, only at Praia do Farol. Orientation: southeast.

 

Culatra Beach

The beach is located in the extreme east of the island of Culatra, associated with an old fishing village which, dozens of years ago, was built of wooden houses.

Access and facilities: Regular boat rides from Faro (summer) and Olhão (all year round), ample and neat parking lots close to the embarkation docks. Supporting equipment (restaurants in proximity to the beach, toilet and beach support) and surveillance during the bathing season. Barra do Lavajo does not have beach supervision. Orientation: southeast.

 

Armona Beach

The beach is situated at the western end of Armona Island, near the Lavajo Barra, and once again you need to cross the labyrinths of sand and vasa of the Ria Formosa to reach it. Ria - The beach of Armona-Ria is also classified as a bathing area, it boasts of clear and calmer waters.

Access and facilities: Regular careers from Olhão throughout the year (ample and neat parking in close proximity to the pier). Praia dos Cavacos

This beach of ria is located in the marsh, next to the nucleus of support to the fishing and the shellfish picking. Access and facilities: EN 125, following in the direction of Aldeia de Marim (about 3 km from Olhão). Informal on-ground parking. It does not have support equipment or beach surveillance. Orientation: south / southeast.

 

Fuseta Beach

The beach is located in the extreme east of Armona Island, in front of Fuseta, a fishing village but already on land.

Access and facilities: Regular boat rides from the pier from Fuseta to Fuseta Beach. Barra Nova Beach has access by boat (see offer on Fuseta pier), or pedestrian access from Praia do Homem Nu (Island of Tavira). Ample parking (except for fair days) and tidy, next to the Fuseta pier. Various support equipment (restaurants, toilet and bathing and recreational support) and surveillance during the bathing season at Praia da Fuseta. Barra Nova Beach does not have support equipment or beach surveillance. Orientation: southeast.

 

Praia dos Tesos (Fuseta Ria)

The beach is set in a sandy cove that extends at the foot of the village of Fuseta, facing an arm of the Ria, and is much appreciated by the children because of the calm and warm waters.

Access and facilities: Pedestrian access and tarmac road from the village of Fuseta. Ample parking (except for fair days) and tidy, next to Fuseta boarding pier. Support equipment (restaurant and toilet) and surveillance during the bathing season. Affordable Beach. Orientation: southwest
